Scrabble

SCRABBLE is a word game for 2, 3, or 4 players and consists of forming interlocking words on a board using tiles of varied score value. The object of the game is, of course, to win by getting the highest score.

With four members each able to host a small group of people in their home we have been meeting four times monthly and now a fifth (sub-)group is being formed. Members pay the minimal sum of 20p for refreshments (which the host has the option of paying to a charity of their choice).

In our Bracknell sub-groups our aim is to ensure that every session we play is enjoyable and fun.

We are also an outward and adventurous group having played challenging and rewarding games with other local U3A Scrabble groups.

Recent News Scrabble in the garden

A most unusual event occurred on Monday 1st August 2011. The Pickering Scrabblers were able to spend the afternoon playing their favourite game in the garden! Yes, indeed, the sun shone, and it was warm and DRY!!! This has not happened  on the first Monday of the month for over two years…so an event to honour and remember…an afternoon of competitive scrabble, chat, banter and top class tea and biscuits! Here are three of the group…Doreen, Gill and Betty.
